As usual, things sneak up on us, but this past Saturday morning was our Sweeps & Sculls Friends & Family day. It was held at our boatyard and the team welcomed them all to help them understand their love of rowing.
We welcomed
- Friends that wanted to give rowing a try
- Parents got a chance to get in a boat and see exactly what team is doing every practice
- Siblings joined in the fun giving rowing a try
- Friends and family who just wanted to come check out the boatyard first hand
A highlight of the event was that our Zimmerman family was able to fill a quad with family members and go for a row on the Fox River. Mom was in the stroke seat of the boat making sure the family followed her lead.
We also had a number of siblings, moms and dads get in our 8+ for the first time and give rowing a try. The Privateers safely took a couple groups out on the Fox River for their first introduction to rowing.
On shore we had some donuts, bagels, coffee and hot chocolate for everyone to enjoy and have a fun Fall morning on the river. It was great to watch the kids share their sport with their family and friends.
Thank you to all who came out for this event.
