Chicagoland Shiver 2024
February, 2024
One word describes this years Shiver, FANTASTIC! We could not do this without the support of our location, the School of Expressive Arts and Learning. SSR wants to pass along a huge thank you to this school as they have been great supporting our efforts and helping us to have this event at their location.
Second, thank you to all the volunteers, parents and rowers who helped move equipment, setup, break down and run concessions, races, the information table and awards. Your cheerfulness and helpfulness make our event a positive experience for our participants and visiting clubs.
Lastly, thank you to all the clubs who came out to the Shiver. They are Chicago Community Sculling, Inc., Chicago Training Center (CTC), Crystal Lake Rowing Club, North Suburban Crew, Inc., Recovery on Water (ROW), Row Force One, LLC, The Milwaukee Rowing Club and Wesleyan University. We hope that your experience was positive and we look forward to seeing you back next year.
In the second year of the Shiver, the event tripled in size. We had over 100 participants compete in over 250 events and some participants enjoyed racing in up to 6 events. Our favorite events this year was the 500 2x on Slides and the Parent/Rower 250m 2x. We look forward to 2025.
